Coronavirus Live: India records 16,561 new COVID-19 cases, 49 deaths in 24 hours

 India COVID-19 Live: The country also reported 49 new  coronavirus deaths on Friday, bringing the number of Covid-related deaths to 5,26,928.

New Delhi: India recorded a total of 16,561 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 4, 42, 23,557, according to the Union Health Ministry.  The country also reported 49 new  coronavirus deaths on Friday, bringing the number of Covid-related deaths to 5,26,928. 

   The number of active cases in India is now 1,23,535 cases and represents 0.31% of the total cases. 

 The recovery rate is now 98.5%. As many as 18,053 recoveries from coronavirus infections were recorded in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recoveries to 4,355,73,094.
