Mission to Raise National Intellectual Property Awareness (NIPAM) - Key Events
The National Intellectual Property Awareness Mission (NIPAM) was launched by the Ministry of Trade and Industry in collaboration with the National Office of Intellectual Property and the Office of the Director General of Patents, Designs and Trademarks (CGPDTM). on December 8, 2021. As part of this program, raise awareness and training on intellectual property (IP). The system met its goal of training one million students by July 31, 2022, ahead of the August 15, 2022 deadline.
As part of the initiative, the following milestones were achieved:
- the number of participants, including students or professors, with intellectual property training was 10,05,272.
- 3662 educational institutions covered.
I P Awareness :
- The Union Ministry of Trade and Industry, Piyush Goyal, requested increased awareness of intellectual property, in line with Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Indeed, awareness of IP is important to ensure that the knowledge capital developed in the country is recognized and protected so that IP producers can benefit from it.
- Intellectual property encourages and extends support for innovation and creativity, contributing to the cultural and economic progress of society.
- It incentivizes inventors, artists and authors, and ensures the sustainability of research and development.
The national intellectual property awareness task is aimed at students at two levels :
- LEVEL-A : It brings together students in grades 9 to 12.
- LEVEL-B : It includes students from universities or colleges
