 India's Independence Day Celebrations: Extensive security measures have been taken in the nation's capital. More than 10,000 personnel were deployed to protect the Red Fort in a multi-layered security cover.

New Delhi: India celebrates 75 years of independence today, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the celebrations. Prime Minister Modi hoisted the national flag and addressed the nation from the ramparts of the iconic Red Fort.

  • "We are grateful to Bapu, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Babasaheb Ambedkar, Veer Savarkar, who have dedicated their lives for the independence of the country," Prime Minister Modi said.
  • In his speech, Prime Minister Modi called on the people to move forward with five commitments to realize the dreams of freedom fighters by 2047 - a theme that President Draupadi Murmu  also emphasized in his speech. her expression before independence day.
  • The five promises for 2047 are - develop India, remove all signs of incompetence, be proud of our heritage, unite and fulfill our duty, Prime Minister Modi said.
  • Celebrations began with Prime Minister Modi's visit to Raj Ghat, where he paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Arriving at the Red Fort, he inspected the interagency honor guard and police  and raised the national flag.
  • The 75th anniversary of independence is marked by a major show, Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, which begins in March 2021. The day will be celebrated with flag raising and other events. Across the country, national monuments and iconic buildings have been illuminated.
  • Indo-Tibetan Border Police officers scaled 75 peaks simultaneously today as the "Amritarohan" mission and raised the national flag on these 75 peaks as an outstanding record.
