'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign creates 'unprecedented' demand for national flag
Flag manufacturers and traders are seeing an increase in orders and sales of the national flag.
Calcutta: The Center's "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign to celebrate the country's 75th anniversary of independence helped drive demand for tricolor flags as flag makers and merchants saw a surge in orders goods and sales of the national flag. "There was an unprecedented demand for the national flag this year. I haven't seen such a demand in my last 16 years of business. We always get requests but we have to turn down some on last minute. We have supplied 10,000 pieces of the national flag and the sale has been supported by the Har Ghar Trianga campaign," Dalvir Singh Nagi, co-founder of The Flag Company, based in Mumbai, told PTI

The Postal Service of India also sells the national flag online for easy sourcing and claims that it has "received a very good response".
Several PSU businessmen and officials said they made a special effort to celebrate and promote the campaign.
In a recent circular, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs said the campaign is aimed at igniting patriotism in people's hearts and spreading awareness about the Indian flag.
“Spending CSR funds on activities related to this campaign such as large-scale production and supply of national flags, outreach efforts and amplification are eligible for CSR activities,” the circular states.
