Governor of Tamilisai reiterates role of tributes in freedom struggle

 Governor, Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan participated in the Gusadi dance to mark  World Tribes Day at Osmania University in Hyderabad.

HYDERABAD : Tamilisai Governor  Soundararajan on Tuesday said tribal communities were the first to rebel against the mighty British Empire. 

 Speaking during a program organized by  Vanavasi Kalyan Parishad at the Tagore Auditorium of the University of Osmania, the Governor said: “Hundreds of years ago, the devotees fought against the British. They were the first  to fight against the rulers of England, and as we recall the stories of these tribal warriors, our blood boils. 

 Cultural programs are organized as part of the event, where students perform traditional and tribal  dances. Professor Laxmikanth Rathod, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Palamuru, said: "Those who fight for tribal freedom are still unsung heroes, their sacrifices are still unknown after the nation achieved freedom. do."

 Meanwhile, a day-long photo exhibition was held in memory of silent tribal heroes who fought for independence at the Tagore Auditorium on the campus of Osmania University  on World Day. world of the Tribes on Tuesday. 

 photographs of about 40 freedom fighters with a brief history were on display at the exhibition, including photographs of Alluri Sitarama Raju, Rani Ropuiliani from Mizoram, Matmur Jamoh from Arunachal Pradesh, Helen Lepchu from Sikkim , Sidhu Murmu, a leader of the Santhal Rebellion, and Porsche Swuro, a member of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's Azad Hind Fauj. 

 Sabavath Suman Naik, an MBA student, said, “This exhibition gave us more information. We have known many of our tribal freedom fighters who played an important role in bringing freedom to this nation. 

 Daosystem Rao, an alumnus of the university, said, “This kind of event will allow students to understand the sacrifices of their ancestors to liberate the country from colonialism.
