 PM Lays Foundation for ₹ 36.230 Ganga Highway, Longest in UP

Ganga UP Expressway: Once completed, it will become the longest highway in Uttar Pradesh, connecting the western and eastern regions of Uttar Pradesh. A six-lane expressway, which can be extended to eight lanes, will be built at a cost of more than ₹36,230 Crore.

                                

Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today laid the foundation stone for the 594 km Ganga highway in the Shahjahanpur district of  Uttar Pradesh. 

 Starting near Bijauli village in Meerut, the highway reaches Judapur Dandu village in Prayagraj. It will pass through Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Budaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj districts of the state. 

 When completed, it will become the longest highway in Uttar Pradesh, connecting the western and eastern parts of the state.

A six-lane expressway, which can be extended to eight lanes, will be built at a cost of more than ₹36,230. 

 A 3.5 km long runway to support IAF aircraft emergency takeoffs and landings will also be built on the highway at Shahjahanpur. It is also proposed to build an industrial corridor along the highway. 

 It will create a great impetus for the socio-economic development of the region.
