At 4.6 Degrees, Delhi Records This Winter's Coldest Morning So Far

 Delhi climate: The climate office has anticipated cold wave and extreme virus wave conditions over northwest India during the following three days.

New Delhi: Delhi saw the season's coldest morning on Sunday with the city recording a base temperature of 4.6 degrees Celsius, as indicated by the climate division. The greatest temperature is probably going to settle around 18 degrees Celsius, said the India Meteorological Department.


An IMD forecast this morning showed below-normal minimum temperatures in parts of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi. He also predicted  clear skies in the nation's capital on Sunday.  Delhi experienced its first 'cold day' of this winter on Saturday as the minimum temperature recorded was 6 degrees Celsius. "Cold day" is a day with a minimum temperature of 10 degrees Celsius or less and heat The maximum temperature was at least 4.5 degrees Celsius lower than normal, according to the Weather Bureau. 
 Air quality in Delhi remained poor on Sunday with an air quality index  recorded of 274 at 9am. 
 The meteorological agency yesterday forecast a cold spell and a cold spell over north-west India for the next three days, after which it will improve. 
 Most parts of Kashmir experienced sub-zero temperatures last night, with Srinagar hitting minus 6 degrees Celsius.
